Tested against the live contract
The node ships with an automated vitest suite that exercises its operations against the gateway's OpenAI-compatible contract — including gateway integration tests that run Chat Completion and Get Usage end to end — so the documented request/response shapes stay in sync with the API.

Billing note
API calls from n8n draw from your subscription usage pools — same as SDK and REST. Free-tier catalog models are not charged but require an active subscription account. Paid models require remaining pool quota (or on-demand enabled) at /dashboard/billing.
